Selwyn Ridge Primary.
What does it mean to be a New Zealander?
This question was posed as a school wide theme at Selwyn Ridge Primary this year. The purpose of this theme was to give children an opportunity to gain knowledge and understanding about events, places, people and icons of significance to New Zealand and through this develop a sense of pride and belonging to our school, wider community and nation. Children explored aspects of what makes them unique as well as the things that we as New Zealanders have in common, and the things that make our country so special.

Many special ‘Kiwi’ events were held during the term of the theme - culminating in a whole school musical production titled ‘ Dog Gone’ that was strongly ‘New Zealand’ in flavour.
This theme provided a great framework for the natural integration of Information and Communication Technologies which were seamlessly integrated into the teaching and learning process. Click here for curriculum details .
